The SD card essentially acts as the telescope's temporary operating system, so be sure to avoid interruptions during the process. It can take 10 - 30 minuites to perform the update. Once complete make sure you remove the SD CARD. The card supplied is an adapter, so you can use other 2GB or similar micro SD cards to save camera images etc.

This depends if it corrupted firmware preventing your scope from operating, or a hardware faliure. Positive signs that it might be firmware is that the power light does light, but flash. The handset will also light up but not display anything. If neither of these happen, then your mount may have a hardware failure, and new firmware will not help.

The supplied firmware is offically released by MEADE. It is versin 1.6e one of the last versions released.

The SD Card supplied by ScopeBits is properly formatted, partitioned and written to as if it wes a factory supplied one from MEADE.

Yes, the supplied system comprises of a Mini SD card adapter that can take a Micro SD card (The firmware is supplied on this). After you have updated the firmware, remove the micro SD card and keep it safe. You can then load blank micro SD cards into the adapter and use it to save images, tours etc..
